Direction of current inside the battery during discharge
Discharge and Charging of Lead-Acid Battery
Figure 5 : Chemical Action During Charging. As a lead-acid battery charge nears completion, hydrogen (H 2) gas is liberated at the negative plate, and oxygen (O 2) gas is liberated at the positive plate. This action occurs since the charging current is usually greater than the current necessary to reduce the remaining amount of lead sulfate on the plates.

capacitor discharge direction
This is probably a dumb question, but I am sort of confused. What direction does a cap discharge when a system is turned off? For example, decoupling caps that go to ground. When I shut a system down, does the current flow to ground or does it flow in the reverse direction toward the supply (since it is now 0).
Safety Circuit Qualification and Testing for Li-Ion Batteries
is reverse biased to the intended direction of current. The diodes allows charging when the discharge FET is open, and discharging when the charging FET is open. Each cell (or groups of cells) in series is monitored by the protection circuit. The individual cells are checked for over voltage during charge or under voltage during discharge.
11.5: Batteries
NiCad batteries contain a cadmium anode and a highly oxidized nickel cathode. This design maximizes the surface area of the electrodes and minimizes the distance between them, which gives the battery both a high discharge current and a high capacity. The electrode reactions during the discharge of a (NiCad) battery are as follows:

What is the direction of the electricity flow in a DC circuit?
$begingroup$ There is a convention for the technical direction of the current: positive current flows from the plus pole of a battery to the minus pole by convention. The microscopic details of conduction in a specific medium/conductor are a different thing. In some conductors, like metals, it is actually electrons that flow.
How does current flow in a circuit with a capacitor?
The fact is, that ''correction'' to the magnetic field does not exist. The relevant Maxwell equation for current creating magnetism has a term added to the current displacement current, which is the rate of change of the electric field (like, the field inside the dielectric of a capacitor). That addition to the equation is not just necessary for ...
How To Calculate Internal Heat Generation In Batteries
For example, during discharge, the total heat for a battery would be given by: Q Tt (cal) = -0.239ItN [(E o – E L) – T(dE o /dT) P] [25] where. N = Number of cells in a battery. To be able to calculate the heat generated or absorbed during charge or discharge of a cell or battery, the following parameters must be known:

The direction of electric current
Definition of current . Electric current is normally referred to as the flow of charges through a conductor. It can be defined as the amount of charge that flows past a cross-section area in a conductor. In other words, the term "current" can be defined as the rate of flow of charges through a conductor.
Introduction to NiMH Battery Technology
In a primary cell or battery the reaction is generally not reversible; i.e. after discharge the cell or battery cannot be recharged by supplying current in the reverse direction, or it may be recharged to only a small fraction of the initial amount of energy available from the first discharge due to the non-reversibility of the chemical ...

How a Battery Works
This way current will flow through the resistor and we can take a voltage reading as this occurs. If the battery is still good, then the voltage level will only drop slightly. Battery Example. Does the direction of the current change when the capacitor …
Yes. When a capacitor is charging, current flows towards the positive plate (as positive charge is added to that plate) and away from the negative plate. When the capacitor is discharging, current flows away from the positive and towards the negative plate, in the opposite direction.
